The Staff

The President and Founder - Don Rosche is a 21-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served 10 years as a team member and platoon commander of the Marine Corps' elite 2d Force Reconnaissance Company and 4 years as the Chief Instructor for the Department of Defense's High Risk Personnel School. Mr. Rosche conducted special operations in support of NATO deployments in Central and South America, East Africa, Asia, The Persian Gulf, Europe, and Northern Norway.
Some of Mr. Rosche's formal military schools include: Special Forces Military Freefall and Freefall Jumpmaster, Special Forces Underwater Operations (SCUBA), USMC Summer and Winter Mountain Leader's Course, U.S. Army Airborne and Static-Line Jumpmaster, Assault Breacher Instructor, USMC Scout Sniper Instructor, Individual Terrorism Awareness Instructor, Foreign Weapons Instructor, French Foreign Legion Jungle Commando and the French Commando Course.
Mr. Rosche is also a graduate of nine formal shooting schools and four firearms instructor schools. He has attended numerous specialized training courses in the areas of surveillance detection, evasive and offensive driving, VIP escort and security, and in-extremis hostage rescue operations. He also trained extensively with European Counter-Terrorism Units including the Dutch “BBE” and SBS.
In 1990, Mr. Rosche founded Advanced Weapons Training International, Inc. AWTI is a company specializing in unique instruction of practical shooting for the pistol, rifle, carbine, shotgun and sub-machine gun specifically oriented to firearms instructors, SWAT and Specialized Assault Teams, and High Risk Personnel. The courses offered by AWTI are designed to provide instruction in concealed weapons, practical shooting, NATO and foreign weapons, special operations techniques and tactics, room clearing and hostage rescue, precision rifle, and tactical carbine. AWTI also specializes in advanced training of protective details in the areas of motorcade operations, terrorist operations, surveillance detection and counter-surveillance, improvised explosive devices, route analysis, and immediate actions for motorcade operations.
As a Marine and as the Director of AWTI, Mr. Rosche has been involved in training FBI and DEA firearms instructors, select teams and individuals of the DEA, FBI, Secret Service, U.S Department of State, Naval Investigative Service, FAA Sky Marshals, U.S. Customs, numerous Police Department SWAT Teams, U.S. Army Special Forces, U.S. Navy SEALs, U.S. Marine Force Reconnaissance, and Military Defense Attaches worldwide.
Don was in Athens conducting protective operation missions and conducting high-risk training for the Greek Special Police during the Olympics in August 2004. Don Rosche recently completed an extensive contract in Iraq for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) relating to Protective Operation Missions and advanced training for protective teams operating in Iraq. Mr. Rosche conducts Instructor Training for Bill Scott at BSR, Inc and special clients attending training at BSR Inc.
Mr. Rosche graduated from Averett College magna cum laude in 1994 and an honors MSA in International Business Administration from Central Michigan University in 1996.
