This five-day course is designed to enable law enforcement officers and military special operations personnel to become extremely proficient with their assigned carbine. There are no prerequisites for attending this course except that the officer should be familiar with the operation and safe handling of their weapon. The officer should be in excellent physical condition and be prepared to conduct light to moderate physical activity.
This course emphasizes proper techniques in weapons manipulation and presentation of the weapon to the target from the ready position. Marksmanship skills are stressed as well as zeroing procedures, and recommended zeroing ranges and hold-off techniques at varying and unknown ranges. Trigger control and manipulation of the safety are taught as a single function.
Aggressive body positioning and the use of a sling system is shown to provide a stable base for rapid, accurate, multiple shot engagements, quick re-engagement with follow-on shots, and transition from target to target is practiced. Techniques for engaging targets using the flash front site, ACOG sight systems, and electronic sight systems are taught and practiced.

This course climaxes with several high stress practical shooting scenarios (both day and night), designed around applicable criminal / terrorist incidents. These scenarios culminate all of the skills mastered / taught throughout the course. In addition, a qualification course will be fired on the last day to evaluate the student's marksmanship capabilities.
